This is a Fully Washed (the fruit is completely removed from the bean before sun-drying) coffee of the Mandheling variety, a wild bean native to North Sumatra. Sumatran coffee is the earthiest of the Indonesian region, and the most complex. While it is consistent in its full body and low-acidity smoothness, it can vary wildly in the deep flavors it gathers from the jungle floors, making it one of the most exciting coffees on offer.
